Marks of Time
May 12th - 21st
Nature and process are the driving forces in how these works take form. Born from organic materials, detail is built up and lost, resulting in alteration. The works are carved by hand or rain, each attesting to a unique visual history. Hugh Rountry’s stage proofs demonstrate processes of growth as details accumulate with each following print. By contrast Jonny Hamos’ weathered ceramics, accompanied by time-based media, reflect processes of decay. The documentation of these moments in flux examine natural processes as a means of investigating the perception of time and its passing.
